Lisa Picard kicks off the U40 Summit with an inspirational talk on new approaches to commercial real estate development, including a Hackathon-based RFP process for selecting project partners and the use of virtual reality game models to help market the project to potential tenants. Picard also will offer advice on how AEC professionals can better meet the needs of developers, owners, and end-users.
AEC Business Hackathon Introduction
Leading “Hackathonist” Paul Doherty sets the stage for the U40 Summit’s first ever AEC Business Hackathon. In this intense, half-day event, U40 Summit participants will work together as “hackers” on ad-hoc teams to solve some of the AEC industry’s toughest challenges (more information below).

WORKSHOP: Innovation Intervention — U40 Summit’s AEC Business Hackathon
In this high-energy, collaborative workshop, U40 Summit participants will work in teams to develop solutions (“hacks”) to some of the biggest issues facing AEC firms and professionals—from technology disruption to talent acquisition/retention to innovation. The workshop will conclude with 10 ideas-packed presentations from the groups, complete with takeaways, lessons, and advice for the entire audience.
